Samuel R. Delany

(1942 - )

Black American from Harlem, New York. Published first sci-fi novel at age twenty: The Jewels of Aptor-1962 One of the 'names' of science fiction. In Galaxy magazine, issue of January 1969, Algis Budrys said Delany is, "the best science-fiction writer in the world".
His wife is the poet Marilyn Hacker (1942 - )
